About the Seminar
The Centre for Research in History, Heritage and Memory Studies organises an annual seminar series, with a mixture of online and in-person talks. For 2024-25 we have focussed on the thematic priorities of Centre research groups – Religion and Conflict; Memory Studies; Material and Immaterial Cultures; History and Policy; and Oral History – to deliver a varied programme encompassing both internal and external speakers. Starting with an online seminar from Dr Matt King (University of South Florida) on Crusade and Jihad in the medieval mediterranean, and ending with Professor Gill Allwood of NTU on national and local climate policy in Uganda, the series offers a vibrant mix of period, theme and geographical focus.
